I became aware of the Abigail Alliance's work when a former boss, whom I very much respected, couldn't get a developmental cancer drug in time. I personally tried hard to gain him access to a very promising developmental drug before he had any chemotherapy as studies indicated much more efficacy without chemo. This was a very frustrating and heartbreaking experience. I came across The Abigail Alliance's tremendous work during this time and became determined to help them in their efforts. (Bexxar, the drug I tried to help my boss get, was also fought for by The Alliance and eventually won approval).
